First let me say I absolutely love when children are taught the armor of God. Zoe’s dad had a lot of good things to say with Scriptural support. Second, I love this series as a whole.

However, Zoe’s pride was not addressed at all! The first several pages show her arrogance about her singing skills as well as much bragging to others about how she’ll get the lead part. Children absolutely do need to be equipped with Scripture and the armor of God, yes. They need to be guided through tough situations like Zoe was going to have to endure, yes. But…shouldn’t we address what caused most of this problem in the first place?

Overall, I only docked one star for the above, because the rest of the book’s teaching is still biblical and thoughtful. I would just like parents to note “pride” as another talking point when reading this book.
