Never in a million years will studying God’s attributes get old. The Hox team walks us through 52 different aspects of His character in an inviting way. Viewing the entries together gives families a plenary view of the world we live in and the God who created every bit of it.

If you have read Who Is Jesus? (see my review here), you’ll already be familiar with the format: Kate has a conversation with us, Joe illustrates it, and then we can use the rest of the entry in various ways, depending on our family’s unique situation.

Fun fact: I wanted to shout out, “Amen!” several times when I first read this all the way through. And some of the illustrations completely froze me as I lingered on the scenes Joe depicted. It’ll probably change every time I read it, but my current favorite pictures are The Ancient of Days (p148) and God Tore the Veil (p180)! Just saying…the book is for adults, too.

It’s clear a lot of research and prayerful studying went into the production of this book. I’m so thankful to live in an age with high-quality books that provide parents with biblical tools like these. God’s attributes have never changed (and many books have been written on them), but fresh publishings which can speak to new generations with their own vocabulary and modern references are a gift to us all.

Feel free to spread out the readings as much as your family needs. If you only read it three times a week, you’ll have it finished in about four months; if it’s a daily read, you’ll be done in fewer than two months!

The book was just published this month, so there’s currently a sale going on (see that here). New Growth Press always comes to my state’s homeschool convention, so that may be true for you, too. Keep an eye out for their products! And may your family’s spiritual life be enriched with this new resource.
