Most of us have heard of the “Trojans’ Horse,” but do we remember the details surrounding the tale? This is a great summary of it written on a child’s level. The illustrations also aid in visualizing the situation. It eventually jumps forward in time to Homer writing down the stories resulting in the poem we know as The Iliad and then even farther–telling of the archeological dig that discovered Troy was a real place.
No one knows which details are true, but it is one of our world’s oldest stories and connects readers with history in a meaningful way. I recommend it as a good introduction for those studying Ancient Greece.
