Book Thoughts: The Dot (Reynolds)

  • a girl insists she can’t draw and realizes she was wrong
  • encourages creativity

Type: picture book
Ages: 3-7
Author: Peter H. Reynolds

I loved how the teacher slyly caused the child to bloom in her own way. That was very touching.

I didn’t like the girl’s attitude at first, but it wasn’t overwhelming. She was just frustrated by her self-declared lack of artistic talent.

Happy ending!
