Ping learns an important lesson in just one day! Sometimes it’s best to receive a punishment than lose the comfort and safety of home. In avoiding a small spanking (the last duck to board the boat for the night gets a small swat on his back by their master), Ping hid. But he didn’t exactly have a good time trying to find his family again!
This is based in China and was first published in 1933. It would make an interesting living book into part of their culture back then–definitely something I’d like to learn more about after this story!
