The dragon’s friend, a little mouse, is a wonderful example of how good friends can encourage and stick by one’s side. There is only one page spread where the mean dragons taunt and tease the nice one, with the worst being “She’s a weedy wimp!” It’s kept gentle enough for your younger listeners.
Though this is a completely secular book, I could easily see it being tied into a Christian conversation as far as finding God’s purpose for your own life.
The illustrations were really great. Some of them reminded me of my favorite viewpoint in Ecuador–Crater Pululahua–and I wondered if the author had ever been there!
Sweet little book.
