If you love Robert McCloskey’s books, you’ll find a special connection with this lovely book. It’s not required, but I’d recommend reading Make Way for Ducklings before this one. It expands on the making of it.
Though the illustrations are fairly serious (not very many smiles–he was working hard!), there is something quite inviting and expressive within them. It could be inspiring to young artists, not to mention anyone who has a big goal that requires hard work!
I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. 🙂
