Book Thoughts: Mr. Biddle and the Birds (Anderson)

  • a man enlists his four bird friends to help him fly
  • an exciting first flight ends in disaster, but the birds come to his rescue
  • language: shut up x1

Type: picture book
Ages: 4-8
Author: Lonzo Anderson
Illustrator: Adrienne Adams

It’s hard to tell if it’s an extra small man or extra large birds! Either way, its message is one of perseverance and working together. The birds weren’t usually helpful nor good listeners…until they considered the man’s situation above their own. It’s an overall endearing and innocent story.
