Book Thoughts: Monet’s Cat (Murray)

  • a porcelain cat magically comes to life and runs through various famous paintings of Claude Monet’s
  • amusing and quick story
  • clean language

Type: fictional picture book
Ages: 3-8
Author: Lily Murray
Illustrator: Becky Cameron

Turns out, Monet really did own a porcelain cat, which is where the author found her idea for the tale! Though it could be read as is, I recommend becoming acquainted with some of his artwork before reading this book. The familiarity would certainly increase the amusement.
