*Though the scenes with this particular animal are creepy, they are countered with the goodness of those who oppose him. There are never any actual spells said or descriptions of his “magic” activities. Regarding good vs. evil, a quote from the book: “The Heart is still stronger than all Smokewreath’s sorcery. The Heart creates, evil can only destroy.”
Another winner! Urchin and his fine friends have quickly become favorites. McAllister expertly draws readers into her story with characters we all can look up to. New friendships emerge, past mysteries are solved, and the antagonists eventually get their due.
