Book Thoughts: A Merry Little Christmas (Engelbreit)

  • energetic rhymes go through the alphabet, listing all sorts of fun elements of the season
  • convo: significant emphasis on Santa, Christmas “magic” mentioned
  • amazingly detailed illustrations

Type: picture book
Ages: 2-8
Author: Mary Engelbreit

This is one of my favorite Engelbreit books, mostly for the illustrations–they are so fun! Each page is worth studying to discover just how creatively detailed they get. The emphasis on Santa and gifts is a little too much for me, but it’s mixed in with many other delightful traditions of the season.
