I already know I’ll be in the minority on this one, but it’s my account. 😉 We didn’t care for this book at all. However, one positive about it: the described sad conditions for many could inspire gratitude for our modern blessings.
Make sure you compare other sources reporting her story/life with the end notes of this book. They don’t always match up. Some resources even describe Mary as a supporter of eugenics and other appalling things.
Lastly, it simply makes me sad to read biographies about remarkable people who likely did not know Jesus. What an impact on His Kingdom she could have made.
