This book grew on me! (Heh, unintentional beard pun.) When the lumberjack realizes what he has done, his initial solution is comical yet impractical. Ultimately, though, he makes a good decision and there is a happy ending.
Though this was definitely written from a secular point of view, encouraging “green” thoughts and environmentalism conversations, I see no problem in reading the book as a Christian. It was, after all, to us humans that God gave the earth to steward and have dominion over.
Plus, I will admit, I love tree stories. So here’s my stamp of approval on this one. Enjoy!
