I appreciated this gentle introduction to the life of such a famous author. Kids should be exposed to Dickens’ works, and this is one way to plant that seed. It can also be inspiring to young writers to persevere in their craft.
It always takes me a minute to get used to the artwork in this biography series, but then it always grows on me. I’m not sure why!
Truly, it’s not just children who are enriched by picture book biographies–they’re great for the adults, too, since they are kept brief and hit the highlights. Definitely pick this one up if you’re studying Dickens, writing, the Victorian age, or England in general. I hope you like it!
