Book Thoughts: Kermit the Hermit (Peet)

  • a grouchy crab has a change of heart after a boy saves his life
  • marvelous cadence, great read-aloud
  • good underlying message of caring for others
  • illustrations have delightful originality

Type: picture book
Ages: 4-8
Author: Bill Peet

This is a longer picture book as far as picture books go, but it should be read in one sitting.

I don’t love all Bill Peet books, but this one was particularly fun to read aloud to my kids. Do you have any Peet favorites?
