Illustrator: Middy Thomas

We flew through this book! It’s delightfully funny, so my kids kept wanting “more,” which I happily obliged. The class in the book learns all about storytelling–its components as well as tips for telling them–through an unusual method of teaching. Gooney Bird is unashamedly herself and inspires her new friends, as well as the teacher, to show more of their own personalities, too.

There are others in the series, but I’ve only read this one. Let me know if you’d like a review of any more of them!
