(excepting one small instance of private remorse) - so many French words makes reading aloud somewhat choppy
- convo topics: gypsies, fortune telling, keeping secrets from parents, “stupid,” cigarettes, some Catholic church terms, laziness, probably more…

You might gather that we didn’t care for this one. 😉 I will say it ends well, with the main guy “manning up” and caring for others, but doesn’t excuse the sorry rest of the book. 🙃
