- a young girl’s family moves in across the street from Emily Dickinson
- she is able to meet the reclusive lady and they quietly exchange gifts
- convo point: sherry is served
- clean language
Type: biographical picture book
Ages: 3-8
Author: Michael Bedard
Illustrator: Barbara Cooney
The book was more about the little girl than the famous poet. I would have liked a bit more about Emily! But there was enough to provide a decent introduction to Emily Dickinson for young children. The illustrations were beautiful, so definitely points for that!
