*There’s no need to have a lot of knowledge about Egyptian gods, but if it interests you, check out “Tales of Ancient Egypt” by Roger Lancelyn Green. In “The Egyptian Cinderella,” when a god is mentioned, it’s generally explained; for example, “A great falcon, the symbol of the god Horus, circled in the sky…”

This made an excellent addition to our Ancient Egypt studies! It’s a memorable “living book” and shines a light on aspects of that old culture.

Definitely don’t skip the Author’s Note in the back. It describes how fact is mixed in with fiction–something we found interesting!
