Book Thoughts: Patrick (The Courageous Series, Book 4)

  • fantastic overview of Patrick’s story and what we are actually celebrating on March 17
  • encourages readers to stand firm in the faith, be brave, and to trust God through all types of suffering
  • colorful illustrations help make the message memorable
  • convo points: he is kidnapped from his bed and forced into slavery for several years
  • gives current examples of Christians being persecuted today

Type: long picture book
Ages: 3+
Author: The Voice of the Martyrs with Cheryl Odden
Illustrator: R.F. Palavicini

This is part of a dynamic book series of “martyr” biographies. They are each easily read in one sitting and are wonderful ways to safely broaden your children’s view of Christian history–and how similar persecution is still going on today.

There’s no problem reading about shamrocks and leprechauns, but I highly recommend you add this book to the mix to even things out. 🙂 May the next generation be emboldened for Christ! May they share the good news of the gospel with the courage of Patrick!
