Book Thoughts: Corduroy’s Christmas Surprise (McCue)

  • based on the character created by Don Freeman
  • Corduroy’s excitement for Christmas is palpable as he plans and cherishes his friendships
  • convo: Santa mentioned
  • cozy illustrations

Type: picture book
Ages: 3-6
Author: Lisa McCue

Though it’s by a different author, if you have a Corduroy-appreciator in your home, this is a cute addition to his stories. He does “all the things” for Christmas, from tree trimming to caroling and so much more.

The only thing I’d recommend adding to the conversation (if you read this book) is the book’s message versus the Book’s message: Is being surrounded by friends the best part about Christmas? Or is it actually that the Creator of the world sent His Son, Jesus, to save us?

Beyond that line, the rest of the book is clean and cheerful!
