Type: beginner chapter book
Ages: 6-8
Author: Cynthia Rylant
Illustrator: Wendy Anderson Halperin

*There were multiple blushing moments and comments like “He likes Aunt Lucy” and “He’s in love with Aunt Lucy.” Later, the girls decided they needed to help get the two adults together. The book ends with them planning the wedding for the two who had just met earlier that day. It was as dramatic and silly as you might imagine three nine-year-old girls being. 🙂

I’m not a huge fan of romance in children’s books, but it was all appropriate and lighthearted. I would like to continue reading the series to see how it progresses, but the general setting is quite charming.
