Considering Philippians 4:8, this book is a great one to slowly read through with your children. Fill their minds with good! And no harm in re-reading either.
I appreciate this snippet from the introduction:
“Moral education—the training of heart and mind toward the good—involves many things. It involves rules and precepts—the do’s and don’ts of life with others. It involves explicit training in good habits. And it involves the example of adults, who, through their daily behavior, show children they take morality seriously.”
For those reading this book because it’s included in Sonlight’s Pre-K package, my only note on violence is in “The Indian Cinderella” story toward the end. There are a few sentences you might want to gloss over, depending on the sensitivity and age of the child listening.
P.S. I love how the artist had a picture of humans with a dinosaur. That’s true history. 😉
