*Admittedly, I didn’t spend hours researching her, but I did see in one place that she was a Quaker missionary. This raises alarm bells for me, but her faith seemed sincere in the book. There wasn’t much doctrine discussed or articulated, but the story regularly had God “speaking to her.” I gave them the benefit of the doubt–that they’re keeping sentences simple for children readers–but it may be a good thing to discuss as a family.
Other than that, it was a great story of courage and faith!
