I’m always glad to find a book on WWI since we have a plethora for WWII. This one was very well written and leaves an imprint in our memories. I agree with the final paragraph in the appendix note: “Next November 11, think about the service and sacrifice of all brave soldiers. And don’t forget about courageous horses like Bunny.”
If you and your children can talk through the death of one of the characters we come to know, then I highly recommend this book. Include it in war studies, Canada studies or simply if you’re looking for a good biography.
