I have really liked a few other books by this author, so don’t take this as a disapproval of all his works…it just fell short for me. The child, though–yes–so excited, was out of control. The mother never corrected him. And the book ends before guests arrive, for whom they were preparing, so it felt a little abrupt in that regard. No huge content concerns–it may be more entertaining for you than it was for us, and that’s fine!
