God’s Word is truly living and active! It is able to penetrate the hardest of hearts and open eyes to the Truth. Though the story is about a young man named Antonio, there is also a focus on an older man, Giovanni. Giovanni’s story is a beautiful testimony to faithfulness. His faith and courage to share what he had learned from the Bible spread the gospel like fire.

Antonio, on the other hand, resisted the Truth. He even stirred up animosity toward Giovanni, resulting in some kicking and hitting till he left the scene (Giovanni was fine).

As is often the case, the Lord used a catastrophe to finally get Antonio’s attention. Because of it, he began reading the Bible, and ultimately committed the rest of his life to Jesus and His ways.

It’s a short but memorable story. Yet, surprisingly, as it’s not mentioned on the cover, there is a whole other essay in the back. It’s written at a more difficult reading level but is solid biblical teaching about being grateful to God during times of blessing and having a proper sense of dependance on the Creator.
