Book Thoughts: The Best Nest (Eastman)

  • Mrs. Bird learns that the grass is not always greener elsewhere and eventually appreciates what she has
  • teaches gratitude for one’s surroundings
  • language: “hate” x4

Type: picture book
Ages: 3-5
Author: P.D. Eastman

The wife (Mrs. Bird) is not very kind to Mr. Bird in this story. There’s also no hint of apology for her behavior, which would have made a nicer ending.

Other than that, however, it is mostly a cute picture book. It’s good to be content where God has placed you.
