The rabbits and squirrels of Lepunia unite again as they resist the enemy–an evil badger and his army of coyotes. Readers will meet several old friends (prairie dogs, jackrabbits, squirrels, and more) from the first book while encountering new ones, too (roadrunner, geese, muskrats, and more)!

Get ready to go on a page-turning journey that ends in an even more page-turning battle. The most intense few chapters are toward the end, but I believe the elements of the battle are age-appropriate (8+). Some kids even younger could likely handle it, especially if reading together as a family.

Speaking of, Lepunia: The Last Galloper would make a great read-aloud as it has very few words that concern some parents, and continues following characters children probably bonded with in the first book. An abundance of discussion could be had from this one story alone. Happy reading!
