Book Thoughts: Samuel Morse, That’s Who! (Maurer)

  • biographical & secular* account of the man who invented Morse Code
  • written in an engaging style
  • attractive artwork
  • beer mentioned, but in the context of ingredients for paint mixes
  • includes a great timeline and other information in the back for further study

Type: biographical picture book
Ages: 4+
Author: Tracy Nelson Maurer
Illustrator: el primo Ramón

*I only mention this because I have read other biographies which include different information. Mr. Morse was raised in a Christian home, and, by many accounts–personal diary, letters to family, etc.–he seemed to have a solid biblical faith of his own.

This was a really great picture book biography!
