  • those around her, including her mother, remind her of all of God’s promises in a beautiful way
  • sweet and inviting illustrations

This book! It’s an absolute treasure if you are looking to biblically guide your children through grieving a loss. The story has an tone of gentleness that handles the somber subject with care. Tears and sadness are depicted, but it’s all kept age-appropriate. I do, however, recommend parents pre-read to see if it would fit your particular circumstances.

The back holds multiple pages of tools for parents or caregivers–discussion points on lament, ideas for remembering a loved one, and a lot of Scripture.

If you appreciate this book, check out another similar one by the same author: Something Scary Happened (see my thoughts on it)–it’s just as good!
