This is an excellent book! It’s well-written, well-illustrated, and inspiring to young thinkers. And it made a great addition to our homeschool history studies this year in Ancient Greece.
I appreciated how the author described writing a biography of a man of whom there are few records. She says:
“There is much that we do not know nor ever will for sure. Such gaps exist in all histories. We cannot fill them in by making up facts, but we can try to responsibly imagine based on what we already know, which is what I’ve tried to do in this book.”
The lesson we can learn from Eratosthenes’ life? To keep asking questions! Keep learning!
