These Carl books are always highly unrealistic. Every good parent out there should be appalled at the situations (I’m laughing as I type that) the girl and dog find themselves in, but it’s pure entertainment to the littles you’re reading to. 😉 In this case, the babysitter ignores them and the parents are oblivious. But Carl always gets his human home, safe and sound.
