Book Thoughts: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (May)

  • the original Rudolph story and illustrations
  • bouncing rhymes throughout, many clever phrases
  • convo: making fun of someone because they’re different, Santa

Type: picture book
Ages: 4-8
Author: Robert L. May
Illustrator: Denver Gillen

We own an old copy of this book, which was originally published in 1939! Before the story begins, we are given a little history of how the story came to be, which adds to the enjoyment (as least for me, the adult!).

Did you grow up watching the claymation version like I did? Well, don’t be surprised that it strays from the original. Compare the two and see which your family likes better!
