Though this is an abridgment (which the publisher explains in more detail), it feels accurate and realistic. It was also refreshing to see his Christian faith intermingled in the entries.
By the way, the log begins on August 3 (1492) and ends mid-October, if you wanted to match up dates as you read!
Overall, it is a very well-made book with several unexpected extras (such as maps, woodcut replicas, etc.). It would make a fantastic addition to American history studies.
