This was only my second of Kate’s books to read, and I was so pleased with both of them. (See The Treasure Hunt review here.)

The sister character is hidden away at a convent while her brother finds himself at a hard-to-reach farmer’s home. Knights are trying to help them reach safety, but setbacks keep delaying that goal. Be ready for some fast-paced scenes!

It’s a particularly rare talent to be able to make readers connect to characters immediately. This is a small book that honors God–with both the text and with Kate’s gift of writing. I actually didn’t know if was going to have a Christian theme, and it’s woven in nicely.

I hope to purchase its sequel soon and will link to its review one day. Happy reading!
