Sure, adults and older kids will find these books a little cheesy at times, but to emerging readers, they are delightful! This book’s particular mystery had an unusual thief and is perhaps slightly more mellow than the first three books.

I’ve been enjoying getting to know the Barkley family. Their puns and “dad” jokes, I admit, have made me laugh aloud more than once. And wouldn’t it be fantastic if we truly could learn “dog” or “cat” like any other foreign language?

I have one more book to read and review in this series, so stay tuned!
