This is one of my favorite WWII historical fiction stories for the intended age group. Its unique and adventurous storyline keeps the pages turning. The Norwegians are “liberty-loving people who think freedom is a greater heritage than gold,” but they also are seeking a way to keep their nation’s abundance of money out of the Nazis’ hands. How will they smuggle out millions of dollars worth of gold without being noticed?
